Double-Vision Disarray

double face

Today while walking around in downtown Washington, D.C. near The White House, I came across this newspaper bin. The torn and super-imposed images looked too interesting to not to capture it in a photo. I especially am fond of the two different faces haphazardly making an effort to come together. Our mind wants to morph them both into one person’s face, but the two do not line up for this to occur. I also find the difference in color in the two images interesting. The bottom image is full color, whereas the top image is a muted, grayish palette. The final composition we are shown is one that is uneasy and erratic in the scratched away and disordered merging.
